Meet MultiFrax: A New Approach to Skin Resurfacing in Nampa, Idaho
If you’ve been looking for a way to improve fine lines, acne scars, sun damage, uneven skin tone, or rough skin texture without surgery, you may have heard about laser skin resurfacing.
Now, there’s a new option available at Snake River Aesthetics in Nampa, Idaho: MultiFrax laser skin resurfacing.
As someone who has spent more than 25 years in healthcare, I’m always looking for treatments that make sense from both a medical and aesthetic perspective. I’m especially excited about treatments that can improve the health and quality of the skin while still creating natural-looking results.
That’s exactly what drew me to MultiFrax.
What Is MultiFrax?
MultiFrax is a fractional non-ablative laser treatment designed to improve the appearance and quality of the skin.
Unlike treatments that simply exfoliate the surface of the skin, fractional laser resurfacing delivers controlled laser energy into targeted areas of the skin. This stimulates the skin’s natural repair process and supports collagen remodeling.
MultiFrax uses two wavelengths—1550 nm and 1927 nm—that can address different layers and concerns within the skin. The 1550 nm wavelength is used for concerns such as fine lines, acne scars, and changes in skin texture, while the 1927 nm wavelength is particularly useful for pigmentation and sun-related skin changes.
The result is a treatment that can address multiple skin concerns as part of one personalized treatment plan.
What Can MultiFrax Help Treat?
MultiFrax can be used to address a variety of common skin concerns, including:
Fine lines and wrinkles
Acne scars
Sun damage
Uneven skin tone
Hyperpigmentation
Age spots
Uneven or rough texture
Enlarged pores
Overall skin quality and radiance
The goal isn't to completely change your appearance.
It’s to help your skin look smoother, healthier, brighter, and more refreshed.
How Does Laser Resurfacing Work?
Think of your skin as constantly working to repair and renew itself.
MultiFrax creates controlled microscopic treatment zones within the skin. Because the treatment is fractional, it targets only a portion of the skin at a time while leaving surrounding tissue intact.
This allows the body to begin its natural healing and remodeling response.
As the skin repairs itself, collagen production and remodeling can help improve the appearance of texture, fine lines, scars, and overall skin quality.
And importantly, the results aren't necessarily something you see all at once.
Skin continues to change and remodel after treatment, which is why a series of treatments may be recommended depending on your concerns and goals.
Is MultiFrax the Same as a Chemical Peel or Microneedling?
Not exactly.
Chemical peels work primarily by applying a chemical solution to the skin to encourage controlled exfoliation and renewal.
Microneedling uses tiny needles to create controlled micro-injuries that stimulate the body's natural healing response and collagen production.
Laser resurfacing uses laser energy to create controlled treatment zones within the skin.
Each treatment has its place.
That’s why I don't believe in choosing a treatment simply because it's trending.
Your skin, concerns, lifestyle, previous treatments, and goals should determine what makes the most sense for you.
What Can You Expect During a MultiFrax Treatment?
A full-face treatment is designed to be relatively efficient, with the launch materials estimating approximately 30–40 minutes for treatment.
You may experience warmth or a prickling sensation during treatment, followed by temporary redness and other short-term changes as your skin begins its recovery process. Downtime varies depending on the treatment settings and your individual skin, which is why I’ll walk you through what to expect during your consultation.
The goal is always to make sure you understand both the benefits and the recovery process before moving forward.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
For the MultiFrax launch at Snake River Aesthetics, three treatments are recommended, with approximately four weeks between treatments.
Everyone's skin is different, however, and your personalized treatment plan may depend on your concerns and how your skin responds.
